Updated Firelands MLS Rules & Regulations

Updated MLS Rules and Regulations have been uploaded to FAOR.com. The update includes NAR Mandatory Changes and a change to our Coming Soon Rules. The Coming Soon Rules and Coming Soon Authorization Form have been updated to reflect the rules change.

The following changes were made to the Firelands MLS Rules & Regulations.

NAR Mandatory Changes:

Section 1.2.0 Accuracy of Listing Data

Participants and subscribers are required to submit accurate listing data and required to correct any known errors

Section 7 Compliance with Rules—Authority to Impose Discipline

Note 2: MLS Participants and subscribers can receive no more than three (3) administrative sanctions in a calendar year before they are required to attend a hearing for their actions and potential violations of MLS rules, except that the MLS may allow more administrative sanctions for violations of listing information provided by participants and subscribers before requiring a hearing. The MLS must send a copy of all administrative sanctions against a subscriber to the subscriber’s participant and the participant is required to attend the hearing of the subscriber who has received more than three (3) administrative sanctions within a calendar year (Adopted 11/20)

Section 9 Consideration of Alleged Violations

When requested by a complainant, the MLS will process a complaint without revealing the complainant’s identity. If a complaint is subsequently forwarded to a hearing, and the original complainant does not consent to participate in the process, the MLS will appoint a representative to serve as the complainant. (Amended 11/20)

Coming Soon Changes:

Showings can be preset while in the Coming Soon status for on or after the Active date.

Open houses can be scheduled and marketed while in the Comings Soon status for on or after the Active date.

While the listing is in the Coming Soon status, it is now viewable by the general public via IDX, RETS and API’s (Application Programming Interface).

Updates also include the changes to the MLS Billing Schedule and due dates and wording for Agent Transfers.

2021 Billing Detail

• MLS FEES
  • Bi-Annual MLS Fee $235    ($470 Annually)
    • Due every March 20^th and September 20^th

Invoices emailed to each individual Participant and Broker the month prior to the due date. Please make sure your email settings allow for mass email from Rapattoni and FAOR.com

Many offices now require that their agents/participants pay their own MLS Fees, Check with your office to see how they handle the payment for these. 

If your office does require that you pay these yourself, payments by check can be mailed to the Board Office and postmarked by the 20^th  of the Month, log on to the Member side of FAOR.COM and go to "Member Portal"  to pay via credit card or stop in during office hours. 

The Office Broker or Designated Realtor is ultimately responsible to make sure that all fees are paid on time.

• Annual FAOR, National Association of REALTORS & Ohio Realtor dues
  • 2021 Board Dues $560
    • Firelands Association of REALTORS® ($175)
    • Ohio REALTORS® ($200)
    • National Association of REALTORS® ($185)
  • Dues may increase in 2022

Invoices are generated in October and payment is due by November 30^th.  Invoices are emailed to each individual Member and Broker.  Please make sure your email settings are set to allow mass emails from Rapattoni and FAOR.com

Payments by check must be postmarked by November 30^th, payments via credit card can be made through the Member side of FAOR.com "Member Portal", or stop in during office hours.

• Other Fees

Below are fees for new agents.  New REALTORS® have 10 days to join Board of choice upon receipt of their license. Applications are available for the different types of membership under Forms.

• MLS Initiation Fee - $200
• FAOR Initiation Fee - $150
• Ohio Realtors Initiation Fee - $50
• License Fee - $140 plus tax

New Office Fee:

• FAOR New Office - $400
• MLS New Office - $600
